Christ is the Father of Creation & Father of our Spiritual Rebirth

Today in class we talked about the many titles told of for Christ. Jesus Christ has many titles for his name. Two of them are Father of Creation and Father of our Spiritual Rebirth.

Father of our Creation describes the earth where we live. Christ created earth, but so did God and a host of others. It can be compared to with Brigham Young creating BYU. Does that mean he came back from the dead and somehow built the Spencer W. Kimball Tower? No. There were many other people involved in the creation of this university. So it is with the earth. We only say that Christ and God created the earth because they were at the head of it. They were in charge.

Father of our Spiritual Rebirth is a comfort to us each day. This title shows how we can endure to the end. Christ is part of our spiritual rebirth. Before the pre-existence, we grew spiritually and eventually grew enough that our spiritual body was aligned perfectly with the will of our Father (God). Now, on earth, Christ is here to "fulfill all righteousness" by allowing himself to be a catalyst to our spiritual growth and eventual exaltation. Without a physical and biological father, we would not be able to get a body. So without a spiritual father, so to speak, we would not be able to be re-born spiritually and become like a child. That is why we need Christ. He is the center of everything. He came in the meridian of time--not necessarily in the meridian of man's time, but may mean he is the meridian, or center, of all time and for all of us.
